In the second month of the year 2022, in the month of February, on Saturday, the 5th is Basant Panchami. According to the Hindu calendar, the end of February will be on the Trayodashi date of the Krishna Paksha of Phalguna i.e. February 28 under the Uttara Nakshatra. Basant Panchami is on 5th February.

History of Basant Panchami
According to the Upanishads, Brahma, the creator of the world, first created living beings, especially human beings, at the behest of Lord Neelkantha in the early period. But he was not satisfied with his creation, he felt that something was missing due to which there was a silent shadow all around.
To overcome this problem, Brahma ji took water from the kamandal in the palm of his hand and by sprinkling that water in the form of resolution, started praising the maintainer Vishnu. Soon Lord Vishnu appeared in front of Brahma ji after hearing his resolve and knowing his dilemma, Lord Vishnu called Adishakti Durga Mata. Bhagwati Durga immediately appeared, and Brahma and Vishnu pleaded with her to rectify the problem.
Hearing the words of Brahma ji and Vishnu ji, a divine light emerged from the body of Adishakti Durga Mata, who became a divine woman. This form was that of a beautiful woman with four arms, holding a Veena in one hand and Vara Mudra in the other. In both hands was a book and a crown.
As soon as Adishakti appeared from the effulgence emanating from the body of Shri Durga, that goddess played the veena, which gave voice to all the creatures of the earth. There was noise in the river. The wind started to rustle. Then all the gods called the goddess of speech by the name of "Saraswati", the goddess of speech, who personified words and speech.

Worship method
- First of all, wake up early in the morning and clean the house and collect the material of worship.
- Before worshiping on Vasant Panchami, apply neem and turmeric paste on the body while taking a bath.
- After taking a bath, taking a vow of worship, offer water to the Sun God and worship your beloved God in your mind.
- After offering water to the Sun God, wear yellow or white clothes, the favorite color of Goddess Saraswati.
- Before worshiping Goddess Saraswati, place a yellow cloth on the place of worship and install the idol of Goddess Saraswati on it. Also, install the idol of Lord Ganesha next to it.
- Along with installing the idols of Goddess Saraswati and Lord Ganesha, keep the mother's favorite thing like a book, pen, veena or any artwork.
- In worship of Goddess Saraswati, place turmeric, kumkum, rice, Gangajal and yellow colored flowers in the plate of worship.
- After this, after worshiping Ganesha, offer yellow or white colored clothes to the mother.
- After offering clothes, apply yellow colored tilak to the mother and offer all the materials while offering yellow flowers.

What should be offered to Goddess Saraswati during worship
- On the day of Basant Panchami, pen, copy, book etc. should be included in the worship of Goddess Saraswati. It is said that by this a person gets the boon of knowledge and intelligence.
- Enjoyment of yellow colored sweets- After worshiping Goddess Saraswati according to the rituals, she should offer yellow colored sweets. You can offer gram flour laddus or boondi to Goddess Saraswati. Kheer or Malpua can be offered to please Goddess Saraswati.
- Apply yellow sandalwood and saffron tilak to Goddess Saraswati. With this you will get benefits related to the planet Jupiter. This will increase knowledge along with wealth.
- Yellow or white flowers should be offered to Goddess Saraswati. This pleases the mother.
Do not do this work in Basant Panchami
- Trees and plants should not be cut on this day.
- Eat pure sattvik food. Do not consume meat, fish or eggs at all on this day.
- It is a good idea to wear a yellow dress on Basant Panchami. But on this day I also do not wear black, red or colored clothes.
- Saraswati, the goddess of music, is worshiped on this day. So don't threaten or insult anyone. So do not bring even the smallest negative thoughts in your mind.
- Nothing is to be eaten on the day of Basant Panchami without taking a bath first. So take a bath on that day and honor Mother Saraswati and then eat something.
